The Student Services Department is responsible for the delivery the following secondary school services:

  • Cooperative Education
  • E-learning
  • Guidance
  • Student Success

Guidance Counsellors:

The Guidance Counsellors fill an important role at Orchard Park. They help the students navigate all aspects of student life and are an advocate for the students in school planning. As well, Guidance Counsellors support students in the following areas:

  • Educational/career counselling and planning
  • Post secondary planning/applications
  • Personal counselling
  • Conflict resolution

Guidance Counsellors are organized by student’s last names. To book an appointment with your Counsellor, click on the Counsellor’s name and pick a day and time on their booking page when they are open. The ALPHA breakdown is as follows:

Community Service Hours

All students must complete at least 40 hours of community involvement prior to graduation. This service benefits our community and provides students with valuable skills and perspectives while helping others. Volunteer opportunities in our community are posted on the Volunteer Board in the guidance office.

2026 Commencement Information

Commencement Ceremony 2026 – Information / Important Dates 

 

May 7th Commencement Brunch: Timeframe 2 

  • Orchard Park Secondary School Cafeteria 

  • Community Involvement Hour Forms Due

     

May 11th Commencement Fee Deadline: $80.00 can be paid through SchoolCash Online.  

Fee Includes: 

  • 2 Guest Tickets to the Commencement Venue (No ticket is required for the student commencing)

  • Gown, Cap, Vee Stole, Tassel/Year Souvenir 

  • Grade 12 Brunch (Date and Time above)

  • Complimentary photo at the Ceremony

Please note:  Additional tickets to the Ceremony may become available depending on the number of students participating. All requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected] 

 

May 14th Prom (Dinner & Dance) 

  • 5:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. 

  • Winona Vine Estates  (259 Glover Rd., Stoney Creek, ON )

    Tickets are no longer being sold.  Prom Contracts are due to the Main Office as soon as possible.

 

June 16th Gown pick-up: 

  • Gown packages/tickets can be picked up in the Student Success Room, after period 1 

 

June 23rd Commencement Ceremony

Carmen's Event Centre (1520 Stonechurch Road East, Hamilton, ON)

  • 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. 

  • Doors Open at 2:30 p.m.
